We're back into our short and sweet email lessons for the remainder of the holidays. Today, we're talking subject lines and tension. Which subject line makes you want to open the email more? I've got a gift for you! OR Don't open this email! Don't open this email, right? Because, OF COURSE you're opening that email. If you're me you are anyway. You need to be building tension as often as possible with your subject lines. It's dog eat dog out there inside your reader's inboxes, Reader! You are fighting for that open with a lot of other authors and it's time to play for keeps. So, the next time you write a subject line, look at it and think, has that been done before? Is it compelling? Does it create tension so that the reader NEEDS to open it? If you can't decide, split test if your system offers that. Did you know you got here via a split test? Try out two subject lines and see which one works best! Okay, get back out there! Happy emailing, Holly PS Love Taylor Swift and Email Marketing?
