Yesterday, thousands of Facebook groups vanished overnight.

No warning. No appeal process. Just gone.

A longtime Facebook expert I follow, Mari Smith (she used to be plugged in behind the scenes), shared this wild update: Thousands of Facebook groups were shut down due to a bot attack that tricked Facebook's AI into thinking the groups were violating community standards. Some had hundreds of thousands of members. 😳

Many of the groups are now being reinstated, but only after panic, lost reach, and zero control.

So, here’s your reminder:​
If you’re leaning heavily on social media to grow your author business, it’s time to make sure your email strategy isn’t just an afterthought.

Socials can disappear in a blink.
Email? You own it. You control when and how you show up. You can still launch, sell, and connect even if your accounts go dark.

Your action step this week:​
Make sure your list is growing and that you’re sending regularly, not just when you have a launch. (Even once a month builds trust and resilience.)

Oh and it's almost July 1. That means back up that list!! That way, if your email service does go down, you can set up shop elsewhere.
