I did a thing.

I promise I'm going to get back to what to put inside your newsletter outside of storytelling emails very, very shortly.

(Sneak peek: It's a series. One book at a time.)

But today is a big day for one of my alter egos.

For those that are new or newish here, I have a few different versions of myself out there. I started in this space as the OG, Holly Mortimer. She is one of my author pen names but more importantly, she's my day job name.

Yup, I STILL have a day job and work emails for clients full time and write. I'm a single mom with a mortgage and some serious anxiety about money. We are not here to debate that. My therapist is working overtime on my addiction to working. Trust!

I've worked for 14 years as the lead business advisor for my region's government. I work with small businesses across all industries helping them build or expand their businesses.

I've seen a LOT of wild and wonderful things and I LOVE this job. It's the main reason I'm still here. That and I work in a great environment where the email and writing side of me has lots of room to thrive.

But 14 years brings some issues. Seeing the same thing day in and day out and then working in government recently has become 'challenging'. Even Canadian government. It has its ups and downs for sure and I knew in order to continue to love my job I needed something new to do within it.

And I love to talk about the businesses I serve. And so, voila. I started a podcast. And today the first episode is out. You'll hear the first 5 episodes over the next 5 weeks and then I'm finding a new batch of business owners to interview.

Right now I'm leading an arts and culture business program for artists of all kinds and mediums and I can't wait to start talking to them about art sales in 2025. You can bet authors will love to listen to those interviews! I'm passionate about helping artists earn enough money to life a life of passion and freedom...and that includes you!

So have a listen to episode one. It's my friend Kelly who left her job in banking to open a candy store. I met her when the pandemic was in full swing and was inspired by her bravery as a single mom with a steady job and benefits...and wow has she made that business everything she ever dreamt about.

When the mics were off we had a great conversation about raising teens on your own while running a business and I'm here to say Kelly is one incredible mom and business owner. I know you'll enjoy listening.

The podcast might be in Canada, but the concepts are universal. And you'll get to meet my PA Janis! Without Janis my mental health would be on a constant downward slide! I loved having her sit beside me to talk to my clients/friends!

Listen to episode 1 today!

Kelly Lindsay shares her inspiring journey of transitioning from a 20-year banking career to founding Corner Store Candy Co., a charming sweet shop in downtown Stratford, Ontario, Canada.

And don't forget that if you need help analyzing your whole email system, audits for March, April and May are now open. Only one slot left in March! And don't forget audits in from April onwards are now including one email template as well!

Audits are paid in full at the time of booking. You will receive an 8-12 page report with your chosen template.

Happy Emailing

Holly
