If you're like me, also known as Type Z vs Type A, you are likely just trying to pretend that it's not just about November. Because that means you're going to have to get organized in your personal and professional life in order to successfully navigate the holiday season. If you're not like me and already have all your presents bought and marketing plans made...please send a little pixie dust my way! I'm travelling extensively for both work and pleasure over the next 4 weeks and it's freaking me out. However, I have had enough therapy and business coaching to know exactly what I need to do. For me it's: Write a list. Tackle said list one thing at a time. Side note: One of my favourite business books of all time is The One Thing. I'm a big fan of writing a big list, and then follow that with a list with just one thing from that big list on it. Keeps the overwhelm at bay. But I'm here to make your holiday email writing even less overwhelming. This educational email is going to be one thing. Short. Do you know why? See first sentence. Type Z. Overwhelmed. Do you know what all of my emails from this point until January 2025 are going to have in common? You guessed it. They're short. This is not the time to overwhelm your readers with oodles and oodles of offers and books, and swaps and downloads. Get in. Get clear. Get out. Get In: Get your email into their inbox and get it opened. Use short subject lines and test them. Your readers are about to have inbox overwhelm X1000000000. You do not want to be swimming upstream. Get Clear: One or two offers. Max. I know. I can hear your eye roll all the way up here in Canada. "But Holly, I have a lot going on." Same. Same. So if that's the case, segment and serve. And also stop saying yes to every swap offer that comes along. Think of November 2025 when you're saying yes to a 12 month round robin in November 2024. Future you will thank present you. 👉 Here's why you want to read this book. 👉 Here's the link to get it. 👉 Goodbye. 👉 PS: Love an alpha enemies to lovers like I love carbs? Click here. (This click leads to something alpha enemies to lovers from your backlist.) Get Out: That's it. That's all. Do not make them scroll more than 2-4 times to get the good stuff. No one has time for that. Put yourself in your reader's shoes. Would you scroll for a minute to read a newsletter right now? Nope. I want that good stuff above the scroll. Don't put all of the goodies at the bottom after your swaps or your freebies. Put the revenue generating offers at the top. Okay, next week we're coming back for what to put in your subject line for the holiday season and then we'll finish this lesson with what goes inside the week after. In between, I'm flying to Vegas for Author Nation and it's my birthday so I have a couple of bundles of things on sale to celebrate.
