It's throbbing again!

Reader, do you remember last year or perhaps it was the year before because what even is time...when I gave you one word to try out inside of your subject line that was guaranteed to increase your open rate?

Do you remember what that word was? And if you're new here or like me, unable to remember your own name most days, and you don't know what I'm talking about, today is the day we talk about subject lines for the holiday season.

That one word I challenged you to use in your subject line was...

THROBBING.

And it also turns out, it was from 2022! I just dug it out of the archives. So in order to keep things short and sweet this holiday season, here's that email: https://pages.hollydarlinghq.com/posts/it-s-throbbing Go ahead and read it or read it once you've finished this email.

What did you think when you saw this subject line? Did you want to know more? Did you think I'd lost the plot? Or did you think, hmm, that's a weird subject line, and then moved on?

Whatever you thought, you are here now, so it kind of worked, right?

Here's your 2024 challenge. No matter what genre you write in, use throbbing in your subject and line please do NOT forget to send me the results!

For the romance writers, this one may feel organic, so for those here who write non-fiction, thrillers, have crossed over from the 'other side' of my life...get excited! Have fun with it. I'm throbbing with anticipation to hear your results!

Try to keep the subject line short if you can but go for it! Be someone inside your reader's inbox that makes them pause and consider opening your email! Experiment with your subject lines. Stop the scroll with your throbbing!

Happy emailing,

Holly

PS: If you were considering taking me up on the automation template build for my birthday promotion, I only have one spot remaining. Let me know if you'd like it!
